  • Emphasis on governance, financial sustainability, and service capacity

We led a two-year feminist evaluation of the Feminist Entrepreneurship Program, which supported 11 grassroots initiatives across Canada. Programs included youth leadership in the North, community-based family services, culturally grounded economic development, and women-led entrepreneurship in the food and childcare sectors.

Year one served as a developmental evaluation, mapping scope and co-developing an evaluation framework with grantees. Year two captured outcomes through mixed methods—surveys, interviews, storytelling, site visits, and focus groups—applied in safe and trauma-informed ways.

The evaluation demonstrated measurable outcomes such as stronger survivor supports, improved financial stability, expanded leadership capacity, and culturally grounded economic opportunities. Importantly, the evaluation highlighted how feminist funding strengthens networks, builds capacity, and amplifies grassroots voices—findings directly relevant to the Equity Stream Fund’s emphasis on sustainable, community-led capacity building.
